It’s time to say Goodbye for our beloved app VPN Up.

Today we have finalized the transfer of VPN Up iOS App from our account to appilf account.

The company located in Delaware, US has shown interest in the app and the deal was finalized today keeping our clients on the top priority list for continuous support.

Through the upcoming period, details related to the app on the App Store will be updated with the new Privacy Policy URL and support URL.

Meanwhile, we will still be there whenever required for helping our clients until the latest version is rolled-out and all clients have the app updated on their phone.

As per Apple new rules for its App Store, an individual developer account can not anymore publish VPN applications. And as I’m an individual with an individual account, I can’t publish or even “update” VPN Up anymore.

We will continue supporting the current version via mail to apps@patchivic.com

We didn’t like it, and we will never. But will have to stick to the rules anyway.

Months ago we ran into a copyright issue.

We got a mail from Apple Legal section that they have received a complaint about the name of the application. Which appeared to be a registered trademark for a company somewhere.

At that time we had to remove the application from the App Store immediately to avoid any problems with the copyrights owner and his business.

It took almost 2 weeks to change the name and update our internal libraries and get it approved by Apple Review team to roll out the new version on the App Store again. That was painful.

Now we have released a newer version that solves the same issue within some localized languages within the application itself. Where it appears on some phones with the old name and other phones as VPN Up.

We thought that you, as a user, should be informed of that change. It’s major for some developers to fight for their applications names, especially if it’s not a new one. But we imagined the situation in reverse, we will not like it to happen to any of us.

Enjoy the new name then 🙂

Our new version has already been submitted for review, so hopefully, within 2-3 days it will be rolled out in all App Stores around the world. Make sure to update to this version (v2.1) as it includes updated libraries too.

  • Now you can search the banks in Calculator screen in Arabic and English Languages.
  • Fix the issue where after a search is done or cancelled in Calculator screen, data maintain the searched banks.
  • Fix rare crash cases on iPhone 5s and before.
  • Fix some views that were not viewed correctly on small screen iPhones
  • Message from Developer Button now includes a button to enable a high level of interaction.
  • Now you can contact the developer directly through initiating a mail through the Settings screen
  • Add new Banks (Wafa Bank and FAB Bank)
  • Through bad/none internet connections, you will now have the option to force the app to try again to fetch the data.
  • Fix a rare crash that may occur in the Widget.
  • We made sure, you will never see ERROR0 in Corresponding Market Rates Screen.
  • We have added nearly all currencies for some banks like (QNB, Faisal, Ahli United and Emirates NBD)
  • Now Cement prices are updated and we will keep it that way
  • Now Steel prices are updated and we will keep it that way too 🙂
It’s worth to mention that the support for version 3.1.1 will be discontinued within 2 weeks of the official release of version 3.2.0.

    …Working with MAC addresses has never been that easy. With just a click, you get all the manufacture data related to that MAC.

    With a little few Apps on the App Store, we found that this is a great time to introduce an App like this one. MAC Vendors, with no relation to MAC products by Apple, is a very simple mobile application that converts the MAC Address of any product to its manufacture details. It identifies the MAC Address manufacture company and links it to the IEEE Standards Library, giving the user all details about this MAC, as the MAC Prefix, Start HEX, End HEX, Number of Devices in this MAC Prefix and locate the manufacture location on Map.

    With the location of Map feature, you can locate the vendor registered address on Google Maps or Apple Maps, preferring Google Maps over Apple Maps. Simply what is required is to write down the MAC Address without any separators, or with the easiest solution, scan it with our embedded Barcode reader, just tap on the camera icon. MAC Vendors is coming with another interesting feature, that keeps you safe on public WiFis or Hotspots, is that you can, with a tap, scan the network and find out many details about it.

    With the Scan Network feature, the orange WiFi icon on the top right, you can have all details about the connected devices to your network, starting with IP Address, MAC Address, Manufacturer Name and Device Name. This feature is very effective keeping threats away, simply scan any suspicious network, WiFi or Hotspot once you log in and make sure you are safe and no one is using your own network with informing you. App version 1.0 has been reviewed by Apple Review Team and is now available on App Store.
